This page tells you what we need to know to implement your TollWay configuration. None of the detail is of major complexity, but we do need to clear with you exactly how you wish to trade. A shematic of the processes into which TollWay fits is available here. Information needed by TollWay in order to Support On-line Sales For the Vendor - Payment Methods Do you wish to support on-line payment via credit card? If so what is the minimum purchase allowed using this scheme? Do you wish to provide payment via regular invoice? If so using which dates/over what period? Do you wish to provide a pre-payment subscription scheme? If so what is the minimum monthly payment? For the Vendor - Pricing Schemes Do you wish to provide a membership based pricing scheme? Do you wish to handle membership registration yourself? If not what controls (e.g. an annual subscription ) do you wish to apply to members? For each item in which can be ordered we need: A Short title/description which will appear in the shopping cart entry (maximum 50 characters) Type of item ( document, e-mail support, database search,..) Can the item be downloaded? Can the item be purchased as hard copy? Pricing scheme number 1 = one price to all
Address information if required, for example if the item purchased is e-mail support At least one copy of the following is required. If the pricing scheme allows for multiple prices then an entry is required for each price. Item price Amount of price to be credited to Vendor Amount of price to be credited to Main Highway Amount of price to be credited to third party if applicable Name of third party if applicable If the item is a downloadable file the number of seconds the purchaser should be allowed to complete the download. TollWay provides a set of configurable functions that allows companies (vendors) to set-up their on-line stores with the minimum amount of effort and cost, and with a high degree of flexibility with regards to what they offer their customers. TollWay provides a method of linking from the vendor's on-line catalogue to the TollWay shopping cart. The on-line catalogue is not an integral part of TollWay, giving the vendor maximum choice over how that is built. Main Highway is happy to build the on-line catalogue for the vendor. The catalogue can contain normal physical or "hard" products that are delivered using normal mail-order techniques and "soft" products that are delivered by the customer downloading a file. These files may be of any type - documents, images, music….. However, the shopping cart does not provide for steaming of music at this time. Payment Methods TollWay provides for many methods of payment including credit card, monthly invoice and a prepaid option that is similar the popular mobile phone "pay as you go" facilities. This allows for the on-line toping up of the customers credit. The detail of what is available is determined dynamically by
Pricing Schemes TollWay also allows a vendor to change the price of each item depend upon "membership" characteristics of the purchaser. For example, a vendor can establish a membership scheme in which the members are given special discounted prices for products some or all of their products. TollWay also allows for "member only" access to certain areas of the on-line store. In summary the pricing and availability of items in a catalogue are determined by
