What
does "doing business" mean?
It's as open
as you wish for your community or market. Business-to-business,
business-to-consumer, inter-partner trading, intra-corporate transactions,
trainer to trainee, "club" or user group administrator to member;
TollWay
handles them all for all sizes of community or market. Within each
transaction type it also handles the buying methods you choose to
allow.
Our open architecture
means that vendors using the system can choose the way they configure
TollWay
to meet their commercial trading requirements and those of their
customers or members. This is why it can be tailored to handle simple
e-commerce or larger corporate supply chain needs.
Satisfying
commercial requirements while controlling risk
All trading
involves risk. The risks you are willing to accept as a business
vary according to the type and value of your product and the type
of buyer you trade with. For example, selling electronic documents
by download for a few pounds involves a lot less risk than accepting
credit card payments for an eight hundred pound machine component.
TollWay
builds your assessment of risk into your selling procedures.
Typical configurations
might include a maximum single purchase and a maximum cumulative
purchase per month. For low value purchases you may only need a
name and address. For high value purchases you might require anything
from a basic credit check to full audit-based credit clearance.
TollWay
will accept a range of "permissions" which buyers must satisfy before
a purchase is cleared and stores each buyer's status for future
use.
Multiple
payment methods at the choice of the vendor.
Credit cards
payments, orders and invoices, subscriptions, and "draw downs" on
agreed token credits (e.g. training credits). In addition, free
downloads or delivery fulfilment can be permitted, or even a mix
of free and chargeable fulfilment for situations where the vendor
has members and non-members.
Each vendor
chooses the payment method acceptable to them. For example, if you
are trading with other commercial companies business-to-business
you may want to accept trading using orders and invoices. However,
you may also want to limit the size or to set the terms of any order
for buyers initially. TollWay
allows you to do this.
Treasury
handling and fulfilment options included
From each transaction
comes an administrative overhead to capture the record of sale,
handle the invoice and collect and process the payment. TollWay
allows you to automate much of this overhead and reduce costs substantially.
Using our server technology we can produce automatic invoices and
consignment notes, generate cumulative sales data, capture customer
records and also process multiple transaction payments. In its ultimate
configuration you can concentrate on production, marketing and selling
and we will send you a cheque and associated transaction report
at an interval specified by you. Most of your overhead simply disappears.
TollWay
costs less than you think.
The cost of
a TollWay
implementation
depends on what you want us to do for you. We operate in two ways;
a) on a royalty percentage per transaction and b) to a sliding scale
fee based on the number of transactions. Our percentage varies depending
on the industry sector and the extent to which we involve ourselves
with treasury and fulfilment.
The actual implementation
of the TollWay
core module
is rapid and costs only a few hundred pounds. There may, however,
be other site developments you wish to implement at the same time
when you start trading so it is difficult to quote an exact figure.
